Fish+Bowl – part 4

Part 4 is about Reciclato®, the first 100% recycled paper produced in industrial scale in Brazil, made from pre and post consumption used paper.

It’s not a propaganda for Suzano. What happened is that we had a little headache trying to simulate this paper to see how colors behave in Labtox new stationery project. All items will be print in this paper using two colors because of the limited budget.

As I told before we composed 5 color pallets for this work and we all know that paper participates in the final composition specially Reciclato® that has a greenish-yellow color that could ruin our undersea layout.

Scanning a sheet of paper and placing it into Illustrator or Indesign didn’t solve our problem so we visited Suzano’s website to see if we could get any help. There we found this link to download the paper in 300 ppi resolution. Really saved the day :^/

To simulate how colors will print in both Illustrator and InDesign, select the artwork, go to window > attributes and then check overprint fill. Then go to view > overprint preview. To soft proof colors go to view > proof setup, and once there choose a color profile (uncoated in this case) and then check proof colors in the same menu. That will do the job :^)

Note in the image below that the last composition has a overprint fill to simulate printing on a recycled paper and, because of that, the paper is showing through a darkened artwork.
